Aira Chilcott is a retired secondary school teacher with lots of science andtheology under her belt. Aira is an editor for PSI and indulges inreading, bushwalking and volunteering at a nature reserve. Aira’s husband Bill passed away in 2022 and she is left with three wonderful adult sons and one grandson.

Well, tough bikkies. I’m not apologising. I did not put you down, I was not disparaging in any way, I simply spoke what I believe to be truth.

What is your super power?
My grandson asked this question the other day. Having been a teacher for lots of years, my instant answer was “having eyes in the back of my head and knowing what kids are doing in the classroom behind me”.

Why bushwalk?
I blame my husband for my love of bushwalking. When we were first married we went on a bushwalk with a group in the Snowy Mountains, in the first weekend of January (ie hot summer).
