Phil Hall

Press Service International

Phillip Hall has been too long in Melbourne to see AFL in the same light as those back in Fremantle. East Fremantle born and bred, he would love to see the Dockers back in the eight. But would settle for just beating West Coast twice a year.

  • Faith, hope, love and total football

Usain Bolt has been headlining the futbol news trying to get a professional career started at the Central Coast Mariners. Though he did score two goals in a practice match there is still no professional contract pending. Recently players have crossed codes though the successes have been few.

  • If a Sport Is Not Seen, Did It Really Happen?

Recently, I started watching the Moto GP series. The major reason is that it’s telecast after I get back from work Sunday nights. The simple explanation is, Moto GP is Formula One for motorcycles. Of course that contains Valentino Rossi and many very skilled riders most people, including myself, do not know.

  • Separated Churches and Nations: Blessings for the Neighbours Cow

  • When losing is not as bad as you think it is

This season the cricket team I play for was on fire. Up to Christmas we had not lost a game, not one.

  • Cricket is a great game, sometimes.

Cricket is great game. Though in cricket there is a 'lot' of gamesmanship. Sledging. Rules that can be fudged, scorebooks not filled in right, players dropped down from the firsts to secure a finals berth.

  • Conspiracy theories.

Football is over (for AFL and NRL League) so its time to lament and work out why things happened the way they did. For some this leads to conspiracy theories. Sport has so many.

  • More than me. More than the team. It’s about family.

Playing cricket is a team and individual game. To win you need the team. To play well all you need is to win for yourself. To be a cricketer you merely have to play. To have a club you need family.
