Hope out of darkness

Hope out of darkness

The essence of Christianity is that we have hope in Jesus Christ. The hope for a better life, the hope of salvation, and the hope that one day we shall live in God’s eternal kingdom with Jesus Christ and the Father..

  • Hopeful expectation

Each year, I pray and ask God if there is a word for the year ahead for me to focus on, grab hold of and believe in. I know many people do this and it has become a tradition in my family for everyone to choose one or two words for the New Year.

  • Preparing for my crown

Sitting in the dentist chair for two hours wasn’t what I’d imagined for my Tuesday morning. Going to the dentist is not my favourite thing to do!

  • Is anyone in control?

  • Seven Types of Rest to Restore Your Body, Mind and Spirit

Tired of feeling fatigued? Struggling to stay awake? Overwhelmed by strained muscles, relationships, and emotions? Seeking the sweet relief of rest?

  • The Rise of Artificial Intelligence

As Christians, we are called to be good stewards of the gifts and talents given to us by God, including the advances in technology that have changed the world in ways we could never have imagined.

  • This Cathedral Place

Have you ever stepped out of time for a moment to imagine what history might look like all at once? As the end of 2022, amidst a crisis of housing shortage and affordability, my husband and I packed up our family home with our three children with no guarantee of a permanent accommodation.

  • Wars and Rumours of Wars

We are only half-way through February and already we have had a devastating flood in Auckland, a catastrophic earthquake hit Turkey & Syria, the North Island is currently in a state of emergency due to Cyclone Gabrielle, and there was a suspected Chinese spy balloon testing America’s defence readiness.

  • The Resiliency of the Light

Last month, I wrote on the spread of the gospel throughout South Asia, focusing on the light of Jesus. Our brothers and sisters there share the gospel in the midst of challenging circumstances with great persecution and significantly less resource materially to assist them.
