Dolph Lundgren is all set to play the new villain in the upcoming season of the action series 'Arrow'.
The Swedish actor will be seen in three episodes in Season 5's flashbacks, set in Russia.
The 58 year old actor is known for his smashing role as Ivan Drago in Rocky IV as Rocky Balboa's nemesis. His other roles include 'The Punisher', 'Masters Of The Universe' and 'The Expendables' franchise.
'Arrow' executive producer Wendy Mericle, confirmed the casting to IGN saying, "We might have a line taken from Rocky IV" to use in Arrow. She expressed her adoration for the actor.
Regarding the Russia set up she said, "In our flashbacks, which are set in Russia this season, we are going to be bringing in Dolph Lundgren as a Big Bad."
The speculations regarding this were rife as Oliver showed connection with the country on season 4. Also, Anatoli Knyazev a.k.a. KGBeast constantly came up in the flashbacks during the second season. Oliver, Diggle and Lyla were saved by him from the Russian prison.
Since very little has been revealed about the character, it is not immediately known that whether Lundgren's character will be related to KGBeast.
But Mericle has promised a wondrous fight between Lundgren and Oliver Queen in one episode of the season.
"That fight will be one for the ages. They're going to go and have a big old brawl," she promised during the TCA press tour.
She also revealed that audiences will find out how Oliver got that Bratva tattoo and how he learned to speak Russian in the upcoming season.
