Each May the Tweed Heads Chamber of Commerce ‘breakfast’ is given over to the Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal.
Tuesday - 11 May - two days ago - the local Salvos took the stage at the Tweed Heads Chamber of Commerce ‘breakfast’ as part of its annual fund raising campaign.
Local business people had their tables of eight for the Red Shield Appeal fund raiser (a massive crowd) and on this occasion, the business card draw was not held.
Tronson du Coudray (Mark Tronson) a local artist with works hanging around the world and several in the Basil Sellers Private Gallery in Sydney, does a monthly art work for the Chamber’s business card draw.
Major Rowan Johnstone the local Salvation Army ‘top gun’ recommended that the art work be auctioned to raise more funding for the Red Shield Appeal. So it was.
The small size Tronson du Coudray art work (auction) raised $700 for the Red Shield Appeal.
