Multiple speculations are rising regarding the fate of Senior Supervisory Special Agent Aaron Hotchner played by Thomas Gibson who has been hastily fired from the show 'Criminal Minds'.
According to TV Line, after accusations surfaced of Gibson kicking a writer-producer during an argument on the set last week, the former was suspended for an episode. But soon things took a turn and he was permanently fired from the show he has been associated to for so long.
This means that the show will not have a particular episode where Hotchner will bid adieu to his fans. This also pushed the writers and producers into a quandary as Hotch's character has been very prominently seen since season one as the boss at BAU, and it will be difficult to altogether cut off his part. Bringing a new face or outsider to recreate the role would be too risky.
Since the first three episodes of season 12 have already been filmed, the writers are going to have to figure something out from episode four. Gibson has reportedly hired a lawyer to look into the case.
In a move to cover up for Hotch temporarily, the Criminal Minds' writers are bringing back Paget Brewster played by Emily Prentiss, one of the top-notch team members who was promoted away from the team.
Prentiss is doing essentially temporary duty with us, while Hotch is on temporary duty doing something that the Director tapped him to do," said showrunner Erica Messer to TV Line.
As for Gibson, this is not the first time that he has indulged in some physical fight as he had earlier shoved an assistant director.
Apart from Gibson, fans will also miss watching Shemar Moore aka Derek Morgan on the show.
