The latest rumor surrounding upcoming Marvel series 'The Defenders' is that Matt Murdoch's Daredevil will become the ringleader of the vigilante group.
Very little has been announced about the show which is due to debut late next year. CheatSheet revealed that the series will feature a post-Sokovia Accords world, which will prompt the vigilantes to team up, leading to friction between them and the Federal Government. The series will have eight episodes and will follow Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and see the introduction of Finn Jones as Iron Fist.
The announcement of 'The Defenders' has reportedly delayed the standalone 'Daredevil' series for which fans were eagerly awaiting, leading to speculation that Matt Murdoch himself would be the leader who unites the four.
Daredevil, the web television series on Netflix features the blind attorney by day and vigilante by night from the Marvel universe, which has seen two successful seasons. A third season was renewed and slated to release in 2017 but Netflix COO Ted Sarandos later announced that it will delayed by 2018 due to 'The Defenders'.
Executive Producer Drew Goddard seemed to be as excited as the fans. "Somebody will just say, 'I can't believe we're talking about Luke Cage and Iron Fist and Daredevil and Jessica in the same show.' That seems like a pipe dream, ten years ago, the idea that we can have shows cross like that." he has reportedly said.
