Chelsea & Liverpool are 4 wins from 4 fixtures early on as the first international break begins. Liverpool’s much anticipated season has got off with a bang, winning all matches, their latest test, a tough trip away to Leicester on Saturday for the early kick off.
Leicester caused Liverpool all sorts of problems, only to walk away with nothing as Liverpool’s front 3 finished the job – with goals from Mane & Firmino to win 2-1 at Walker stadium. Chelsea are also no a similar winning path – winning this weekend comfortably 2-0 at home to Bournemouth.
Manchester United have had their struggles, however after 2 disappointing loss’s in a row including a 3-0 drubbing at home to Spurs, United got back to winning ways with a relatively comfortable 2-0 away win up the road in Burnley.
United needed the win & with Burnley being knocked out of Europe in mid-week- this represented the perfect fixture to get back to winning ways. A Lukaku brace was enough as United now move to 2 wins from 2.
Spurs travelled a little north to face unbeaten Watford. In what’s becoming Watfords best ever start to a Premier league season – Watford continued their amazing form – beating Spurs 2-1 to be 4 from 4 with Chelsea & Liverpool.
This was a top of the table clash early on, and it didn’t disappoint, with a late winner to hand Spurs their first loss of the season.
Saturday’s other remaining fixtures saw Brighton & Fulham draw 2-2, Palace lost at home 2-0 to Southampton whilst Everton & Huddersfield shared the spoils.
Wolves picked up all 3 points in London at the hands of the Hammers while City defeated a spirited Newcastle 2-1. Cardiff hosted Arsenal as the Gunners got back to winning ways 3-2 in Wales.
