'Now You See Me 2' actor Dave Franco, Olivia Munn of 'X-Men Apocalypse' and Jackie Chan are set to lend their voices to the ninja-themed Lego Movie spinoff. Warner Bros on Thursday announced the cast of The Lego Ninjago Movie. The American-Danish movie is slated to be released on September 22, 2017.
Charlie Bean will start his feature direction on the animated movie with this project.
The plot has six teenage ninja's assigned with the task of defending their island home Ninjago.
Lloyd, also the green ninja and presumably the lead, will be voiced by Franco. His character will helm the charge to defeat Garmadon, the evil warlord. Garmadon will be voiced by Justin Theroux will happen to be the protagonist's father too.
Martial arts icon, Chan will be voicing a witty kung fu master, while 36 year old Munn will be voicing Koko, Lloyd's mother.
The other members of the new-age ninjas include Fred Armisen, Abbi Jacobson, Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Pena and Zach Woods.
"Our fans know and love Ninjago characters for their personalities and skills," said Jill Wilfert, Executive Producer, while announcing the voices on Thursday.
"So it's only fitting theat we assemble a diverse and talented cast to bring the world of Ninjago to life on the big screen."
The film was announced by Warner Bros. Pictures on September 17, 2013 and the screenplay of the movie is by Hilary Winston, Bob Logan and Paul Fisher.
