In what can be called a double treat to the fans, Superman will be seen alongside Supergirl fighting villains in season two of 'Supergirl' on CBS.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the second season will see Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist) pondering what she really wants. She will terminate working as Cat Grant's assistant but will continue at the DEO protecting the National City. Her search for Jeremiah and Cadmus will continue.
The Kryptonian will return on October 10, Monday at 8pm.
"We are so thrilled and humbled to add another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character," said Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg to the addition of Superman.
With the show making a comeback, a string of rumors are doing the rounds. According to TVLine, fans will get to witness at least five new faces entering the National City, with one of them being Lex Luthor's sister, Lena, who is described as "sexy and smart and determined to get what she wants." The shade of her character is still unknown.
The character Nick Farrow is going to be a show regular with The Doctor and Snapper Carr being the other characters in the upcoming season.
But who will be the quintessential baddie whom Supergirl will battle on season 2? Kreisberg has the answer and it is none other than "Project Cadmus" from season 1.
"Project Cadmus is dedicated to eradicating alien life on Earth. They're fanatics. They're true believers. It's a collection of scientists, of very bright, patriotic people who truly believe what they're saying. That makes them even more dangerous," Kreisberg told EW.
Well, lastly there is also a rumoured surprise for fans. Original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter is all set to make a special appearance as the US President. And also a four-way cross-over is expected.
