Arsenal’s Title chances continue to strengthen after a solid 4-1 thumping of Leeds at the Emirates. The gunners have found form again and really are putting the pressure on Man City, as they try to capitalise on any blip Arsenal may make.
With Jesus back after injury, he took little time to make an impact with a brace. 3 goals after half time sealed an important 3 points for Arsenal. The loss hurts Leeds as they slipped back to 17th just outside the drop zone by goal difference.
Man City v Liverpool
Manchester City hosted Liverpool in Saturday’s early kick off. A hotly anticipated fixture with much to play for from both sides. However, it was City that were simply to strong for Liverpool. Liverpool did go ahead early with a great strike from Salah unfortunately Liverpool couldn’t hold on. City ran riot after half time eventually coming out 4-1 winners to keep the pressure firmly on in the title race.
Saturday’s other fixtures saw some extremely important relegation battles play out. Crystal Palace scored a much needed win at home to Leicester 2-1. Forest & Wolves drew 1-1 whilst West Ham scored an extremely important 3 points against Southampton with the single goal enough to win 1-0.
In the Hunt for Europe
Brighton & Brentford drew 3-3 in a very exciting match. Fulham couldn’t keep up their great form, losing 2-1 away at relegation threatened Bournemouth. Meanwhile Aston villa had an impressive away win at Chelsea. Villa winning 2-0 and helping Potter loose his job at Chelsea, whilst keeping their faint European hopes alive. Sunday also saw Newcastle win 2-0 at home to Manchester United & leapfrog United into 3rd spot.
