Aston Villa started the season well with 2 wins from 2 before hosting Champions Liverpool to Villa Park last Sunday.
Villa bought well in the summer adding quality rather than quantity and were at full strength. Liverpool were without Mane due to Covid19 diagnosis and Allison injured before Kick off.
Villa scored early and simply didn’t look back, going into the break 4-1 ahead. After the interval the momentum was much the same with Villa scoring at will running out 7-2 winners.
New recruit Watkins scored a hat-trick. Whilst the ever-impressive England international Grealish scoring a brace and assisting in 3 direct goals. The win puts villa on 9 points from as many possible with Liverpool asking questions in their title defence.

Manchester United hosted Spurs on Sunday in another thriller – this time with 7 goals. United were embarrassed at home. Loosing 6-1 with Kane scoring a brace. The transfer window couldn’t come at a better time for United who looked to bring in three new players on the last day to ensure they strengthen what looks to be a subpar squad.
Leeds United continued their impressive form with a 1-1 draw at home to Manchester City. Leeds, now on 7 points and look strong after being out of the top flight for 16 years.
Everton continued their unbeaten start to the campaign with a 4-2 win at home to Brighton.
Newcastle condemned Burnley to another defeat, with Wilson on target again in their 3-1 win. West Ham got their first points of the season with a surprise 3-0 win away at Leicester.
The weekend’s other futures saw the gunners keep Sheffield United looking for their first points of the season with a 3-1 win. Wolves kept Fulham winless with a 1-0 victory. Southampton continued their winning ways with a 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.
