The summer of young writers, the first two weeks of January 2022 for Christian Today is celebrated by republishing the 2021 award winners.

There are seven sets of Panellists who mark the various groups of young writers who determine the annual awards.

  • Australians 18-30
  • New Zealand  18-30
  • Internationals 18-30
  • Sport writers
  • Australian Over 31s
  • Internationals Over 31
  • Seniors writers
  •    Australians
  •    New Zealanders
  •    Internationals

There are five panellists with each of the above groups  -  that is a whole lot of volunteers in the young writer program ‘annual awards’.

There are four separate statisticians – this is all focused on independent results.

Moreover, the awards for each group are as follows

  • Basil Sellers Award
  • Tronson Award
  • Theology Award
  • Youth Development Award
  • Chairman’s Award

Plenty of award winners

There are obviously plenty of award winners got the first two weeks of January.

  • Week 1  -  3-7 January
  • Week 2  -  10-14 January

The 2022 young writer program commences on Monday 17 January. There are 5 weeks in a Cycle. There are 10 Cycles throughout 2022.

This means every writer produces 10 articles in the year.

One of the most important roles in each of the above groups is the coordinator. The coordinator sends three reminders to those in their groups

  • 10 days out
  • 5 days out
  • Due date

As dad jokes are my thing and we’re about to start a new year – if any other year is any resemblance the task of getting articles in on the due date with numbers of the young writers always late – it is not quite ‘mission impossible’.
