Monday 18 January 2021 is the start date the for young writer program in the new year. These are published in Christian Today.
There are 50 weeks in the 2021 young writer program as there was in 2020 and all the previous years. The New Year first 2 weeks are filled with articles by the 2020 Awards.
2021 is not a puzzle - but it does require a measure of arithmetic
50 weeks
10 Cycles of 5 weeks = 50 weeks
2021 - each young writer submits 1 article per Cycle
Total of 10 articles in the year
One per Cycle
Over all these years, one could not imagine how difficult this is to grasp. If anyone can count to five, anyone should be able to grapple with this.
Decipher this
Young writers in Week 1 of the program commence the week of 18 January.
Young writers in Week 2 of the program commence the week of 25 January
Young writers in Week 3 of the program commence the week of 1 February
Young writers in Week 4 of the program commence the week of 8 February
Young writers in Week 5 of the program commence the week of 15 February
That completes Cycle 1
Wait for it - there are 10 of these Cycles throughout the year.
Week lots
Young writers are placed in Week lots - what does this mean? We try for 6 articles each day - 6 articles x 5 week days = 35 articles a week.
Week 1 - Australian young writers, Kiwi young writers
Week 2 - Australian young writers, Kiwi young writers
Week 3 - Seniors writers, Kiwi young writers
Week 4 - NZ senior writers, International young writers
Week 5 - Australian and International Over 31s
Plus there are Mission articles, Persecution articles, Sport articles, Music articles, Christian News and Dr Mark Tronson daily column.
How can I become a young writer
First – 18-30 years of age is where anyone starts
Second - the young person gets placed in a specific Week
Third – each Week has a coordinator, editor and photo selector
The Week Coordinator sends their Week three reminders for their due date.
