Russell Modlin and Rebecca Moore ran the 2021 annual awards online.
The 2021 young writer conference was transferred into an annual awards online presentation planned for the Gold Coast on Saturday 11 September.
The reason was obvious - the Covid 19 restrictions - the various and sudden lock downs and intransigent border closures.
The perennial leaders of the young writers conference Russell Modlin and Rebecca Moore this year focused on the annual awards in an online presentation without the heavy duty of running the conference.
The program
The three plenary’s planned for the one day conference are now Christian Today articles -
Russell Modlin - Tues 14 Sept. - Sunshine Coast
Questions for the young writers
Ben Campbell – Tues 14 Sept - Sydney

Small groups
The small group sessions, a feature of the annual young writer conferences, have been transferred to the regions’ Newsy Bits.
Each quarter the Australians, New Zealand and Internationals collate newsy bits for prayer and mutual support – this next quarter an additional issue will be raised – their input into the program.
2021 Chairman’s Award
The annual Chairman’s Award went to Melbourne’s Kelly Thompson who became a sport writer this year, the first woman sport writer for some years, and then mid year became a Week 2 young Comment writer. This impressive commitment is acknowledged.
