Summer Moore 14, from the Sunshine Coast is an acclaimed portrait painter - her latest international work being of Dr Mark Tronson receiving the Gutenberg plaque.
The Gutenberg is the annual premier award of the Australasian Religious Press Association (ARPA) – the Logies of the Christian press media. It was awarded to the young writer ministry in Christchurch 2019 at the ARPA annual conference.
Summer Moore has been painting for quite a number of years having discovered a flair for such artistic endeavour. Summer is currently studying grade nine on the Sunshine Coast where she is enjoying friendships and academic achievement.
Summer is the 4th child of Tony and Rebecca Moore. Tony, an academic, political commentator, and professional drummer has gained solid notoriety recently by exhibiting his ‘drum collection’ including a drum kit owned by ABBA when they toured Australia in 1977. An article on his collection was published last month

Mum Rebecca is an acclaimed author of two books ‘First to Forty’ and ‘Pizza & Choir’, along with the recent publication of the young writer anthology ‘God in Life’ has established international notoriety.
Rebecca is the editor of the Week 1 Australian young writers for Christian Today and is a senior writer for Press Service International whose articles are published in Christian Today.
Eldest daughter Cartia was awarded the 2020 Basil Sellers Award for Australian young writers at last month’s annual conference of young writers.
Eldest son Jesse is employed by their church in the film and media department and arranged the ZOOM for the young writer’s conference last month on the Gold Coast.
Second son Benaton (Ben) is a guitar guru, drummer and vocalist for his band ‘The Nouveau’ as well as playing for church – a highly talented and gifted family. Summer 14 is the artist par excellence.
Artwork - Gutenberg with Dr Mark Tronson
Mum, Rebecca, had put on Facebook a number of Summer’s portrait art creations. The young writer ministry’s Brain’s Trust was consulted and agreed to ‘commission’ Summer to paint the portrait of Dr Mark Tronson with the Gutenberg.
Now, Summer Moore has been commissioned again to paint the 2020 Brain’s Trust with the young writer’s sponsor Mr Basil Sellers AM. An original photograph of Mr Sellers with the 2015 Brain’s Trust was digitally added with the Gutenberg earlier this year.
There are now three changes to the Brain’s Trust – so an updated digital photo was created to add the three new members and it is this photograph Summer Moore is painting for Mr Basil Sellers (Sydney).
It is a three-month artistic endeavour – with her sister Cartia and mum Rebecca in the painting – one can only imagine the family critique!
