UK Christian Today has requested Press Service International send to them the daily young writer articles that are sent to Christian Today Australia and Christian Today New Zealand.
Press Services International was set up on 2002 for Dr Mark Tronson’s articles sent thru Christian media by Ramon Williams, religious media. As the Australian cricket team chaplain of 17 years he had a significant profile.
He also wrote the field hockey for The Australian as a stringer for 24 years – Olympics, World Cups, International tournaments. He is an author of 25 books.
In 2008 then Christian Today Editor Szeiling Chan invited Mark Tronson to write a daily column and in 2009 the new editor David Chang asked Mark to add a second daily article on sport.
That was too much, instead Mark Tronson found 5 young people to write a daily column – and this worked so well other young people came into the program writing Comment, science, arts, social issues, society, philosophy, theology …
Today there are 110 young writers from Australia, New Zealand and Internationals.
CT UK
Xia-Maria Mackay UK CT editor has been in communication with Dr Mark Tronson over many of these years and watched how successful the young writer program has been. When in the US with Christian Post Xia-Maria had many of the young writers posted in the Voices column .
The philosophy of the young writer program is to provide young people an international column for personal Christian development. These young people over these many years have been uni students, tradies, home makers, office administrators, professionals, teachers, lawyers, doctors, scientists …. from all walks of life. The program focus is on 18-30 years olds.
In liaison with CT Aust editor David Chang, the UK CT editor Xia-Maria Mackay has been in communication with Dr Mark Tronson so as to establish a UK Christian Today column for them.
Logistics
The logistics is not complicated. The same time Dr Mark Tronson sends the following day’s articles to David Chang the Australian Christian Today editor, they will likewise be sent to Xia-Maria Mackay the UK Christian Today editor.
Due to time zones - the CT Aust and CTNZ will have published the young writers for each day - followed some hours later by UK Christian Today.
UK Christian Today may be selective but that is part of the process.
Christian Media Corporation International has 101 mastheads - UK Christian Today along with US Christian Post are the two largest Christian News providers (along with Comment) - massive readership around the world.
