More Christians in India are being pressured by right-wing Hindu activists to re-convert back to Hinduism.
According to a report by the Times of India, 42 members of the 'mahadalit' caste in Bihar, considered the lowest group in India's caste system, have sought the help of authorities after Hindu activists pressured them to re-convert to the state's primary religion.
In the petition by the group, composed of two pages of signatures, the Christians accused the VHP, RSS and the Bajrang Dal of resorting to intimidating actions in order for them to go back to Hinduism.
However, the group was firm to stand by their faith, confirming that their choice to believe in Christ was of their own free will, and was not forced in any way.
In the report, a group of 30 to 40 Hindu activists reportedly intruded the vicinity where the Christians live, pressuring them to embrace their old faith.
Furthermore, members of the three right-wing activist groups have reportedly been visiting the area for weeks, threatening them that they would not be able to get the benefits of the government if they stick with Christianity.
