As days pass by, more Christians in India are reportedly experiencing persecution at the hands of their fellow men, mainly due to the country's stricter campaign to promote Hinduism.
According to a report by Asia News, two distinct Christian groups have been taken to jail where they spent their Christmas. The groups were from the States of Orissa and Madhya Pradesh.
The groups were reportedly conducting organised prayer services when the activitists arrived and interrupted them.
In the report, the right-wing Hindu activists beat the pastors and their members, as well as asked the police to arrest them due to their forceful conversion of other Hindus into Christianity.
However, Sajan George, the President of the Global Council of Indian Christians (GCIC) insisted that what was done was 'a serious violation of religious freedom'.
Earlier last month, Hindu extremists filed a complaint against a pastor and his six Christian co-workers accusing them of forcing the tribal natives to convert to Christianity.
Another group of Christians were also attacked by activists and then arrested by authorities.
