Georgia Music Hall of Famer band Third Day announced they will headline World Vision Australia's Make A Difference Tour in 2015. The Grammy-winning Christian rock group will perform with the likes of Australian Levi McGrath and NEEDTOBREATHE.
Lead singer Mac Powell expressed his band's excitement about returning to Australia next February.
"We've always enjoyed playing for our Australian fans and look forward to getting back there in February. We'll be playing all the favorites plus some new songs from the album we just finished, called Lead Us Back. I believe this is the best batch of songs that we have ever recorded and I can't wait to share them live!"
World Vision, an Evangelical Christian organisation and one of the largest relief and development organisations in the world, is likewise thrilled to work with Third Day.
"Partnering on the Make A Difference Tour with first rate acts Third Day, NEEDTOBREATHE and Australia's own Levi McGrath is a privilege. Australians are among the most generous people on the planet and this concert will present to audiences a way to actively participate in giving the life changing gift of hope to the hopeless," said World Vision Australia's chief executive, Tim Costello.
The tour dates are as follows:
Wed 11/02 Sydney - Hordern Pavilion
Thurs 12/02 Canberra – Royal Theatre
Fri 13/02 Melbourne - Festival Hall
Sat 14/02 Adelaide – Adelaide Entertainment Centre Arena
Mon 16/02 Perth - HBF Stadium
Wed 18/02 Hobart – Derwent Entertainment Centre
Fri 20/02 Brisbane - Riverstage
Sat 21/02 Newcastle – Newcastle Entertainment Centre
Lead singer Mac Powell encourages fans to support the work of World Vision and make a difference in the world.
"So often we are overwhelmed by what we see on the news and we think things are hopeless - but we have seen that things are not hopeless. A child sponsor's monthly gift can change the world of a child and his family. It goes towards things like clean water, food, medical care and education that will help that child rise above the poverty that she is living in. Think you can't change the world? Maybe not, but you can change somebody's world."
