
The Turning Point Conference for this year is going to be held for a period of 5 days starting from the 9th January to the 13th January 2006 at Sydney. The theme revolving around the 3 Es (Equipped, Encourage and Empower) is aim at arousing people’s passion for Jesus Christ and His Kingdom. The 3 Es also play a key role in shaping the itinerary.
Equipping the participants of the conference to develop their ‘gifts in order to serve’ is done through the following methods which include: “Listening to the keynote speakers; involve in ‘hands-on’ workshops in specific ministry area, networking with ministry leaders from the Lutheran Church of Australia and daily Bible Studies.”
Encouraging participants to be aware and enthusiastic about growing the Kingdom of God is illustrates by: “Awesome worship, sharing in small groups thus building relationships and hearing stories from other people who posses this zeal to grow the Kingdom.”
Empowering participants to be actively involved in ‘God’s design for His church’ is conducted in the following manners which are: “Opportunities to learn about yourself and your passion; sharing resources and ideas with ministry leaders; growing in vision for our church.”
There will be over ’25 practical ministry workshops’ lead by Australian top Christian speakers and trainers.
There is an array of speakers and presenters participating in this conference including: “Dr Roland Martinson, Reverend Rolly Stahl, Reverend Michael Frost, Bruce Hulme, Peter Eckermann, Fuzz Kitto, Carolyn Kitto, Tim Hawkins, Jason Pestell, Carlyn Chen and John McKinnon.”
An example of the workshop held in the conference is the ‘Ministry in small churches’ led by Carolyn Kitto which aim to explore the strength of being a small church and the health signs of the small church. The workshop gives participants: “A chance to share their stories and experiences and together work out where the entry points for God's mission and ministry in small churches wherever they find themselves.”
