UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urged governments to use radical solutions in order to solve the problem on global warming faster.
In his speech during the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Lima, Peru last December 9, 2014, the Secretary-General asked for more effective measures to expedite solving the problem.
Ban Ki-moon expressed genuine concern on the 'snail-paced' deliverance of solutions and said that this is not a "time for tinkering" but proposing more effective measures is key to clear away if not limit the problem.
He sought a wider involvement from the private sectors and highlighted the chance of limiting the current scenario to avert droughts, floods and the rising sea levels.
The United Nation's Green Climate Fund has reached its target of $10 billion to start off the project.
Hela Cheikhrouhou who heads the fund reported pledges coming from 24 countries totaling to $10.4 billion with Australia promising $166 million and Belgium declaring a $64 million fund contribution.
Ban reiterated that now is the time to act and support from developed nations is at hand.
