Last year actor Ben Affleck and wife Jennifer Garner gave a joint statement announcing that they were filing for divorce. Despite the news, the couple continue to remain together and work together to co-parent their three kids, with Affleck most recently spotted taking the children to church while Garner was away promoting her film Wakefield in Colorado.
The Affleck family's faith was strengthened when Jennifer Garner was working on her film Miracles from Heaven, during which her children expressed their interest in attending church. Ever since, Garner has talked much about revival in her spiritual life.
Speaking to DeWayne Hamby, the actress explained, "When I got back to Los Angeles I was talking to my kids about the movie and they said, 'Mom, you don't take us to church,' and we went that Sunday. And they went today without me. That decision was a direct gift from this movie, and for that I'm very grateful."
Interestingly, the influence that the movie has had on Garner extends beyond the circle of her own family. Speaking about Miracles from Heaven in an interview with Christian Post, the actress expressed her wishes for viewers' hearts to be lifted and cause them to re-examine their own faith and belief.
"I think on a basic level even if you're someone who goes into this just because the other movie that you want to see is full and this is what's open at the time, you should walk out feeling inspired and you should walk out with a sense of hope. You should walk out reminded about how much you get from your family and community," she said.
