A Filipino Muslim leader has recently announced that he'll support Pope Francis' call for action from Muslim leaders to condemn terrorist acts, especially against Christians in the Middle East.
Imam Ebra Moxsir Al-Haj, one of the chaplains of the Philippine National Police, called for other Muslims to take part in the pope's call for peace among the world's different religions.
"I enjoin my Muslim brothers and sisters to join the Holy Father in his efforts at fostering goodwill among adherents of the world's religions," said Moxsir in an interview.
According to the report by Joel Locsin of GMA News, a local news website in the Philippines, the Muslim leader will be one of the 10 religious leaders who will be Pope Francis' audience during his visit in Manila in January.
A leader of the Imam Council of the Philippines, Moxsir showed his support for the pope's message last week about the rising occurence of terrorism in Asia, particularly where the ISIS has been operating.
As a Muslim, Moxsir is against the extremist views which have plagued religious groups across the world.
"Good Muslims and Christians all want peace ... Education has an important role to play to make it happen ... We must see to it that our brothers and sisters are properly educated in their faith so that they will not be swayed by those extremists," he said in the report.
