Activists in favour of same-sex weddings in Florida are protesting that the state finally allow gay couples to wed beginning January 6.
Same-sex weddings are still not legally acknowledged throughout Florida and so couples visit other states in order to tie the knot in a church.
By January 6, the ban for same-sex weddings in Florida will officially be lifted, and would allow same-sex couples to take part in holy matrimony.
However, in a separate report, Florida Family Action plans to stop gay marriages in the state.
According to AP, the group has filed a lawsuit requesting the prevention of officials from officiating or issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples when the ban lifts.
