The Sacrifice
Do you ever sit down and deeply meditate on the sacrifice Jesus made for us? How he sacrificed his life so that you and I can be free. This is amazing! This is unconditional love! He had no obligation to sacrifice his life but he did it anyway. His compassion is beyond comparison, his grace is incomprehensible, and his sacrifice is irreplaceable. Isaiah chapter 53 verse 7 states “He was oppressed and afflicted yet he opened not his mouth, he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.”
Our forgiveness is guaranteed in Jesus, the gift of salvation is extended to all. His sacrifice was not in vain.
Get up!
We were born in sin and shaped in iniquity. Nonetheless, because of the Jesus’s sacrifice we are able to conquer sin. Where Jesus is present, Satan’s dominion and power is absent. As humans we all fall. This gives us the courage to understand that we cannot rise without Jesus’ direction. We do not have to remain fallen because we are given the free will to follow his direction and have faith in him. 1 John chapter 1 verse 9 states “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
There is no cross too heavy for him to carry and we do not have to be ashamed of our past; Jesus said He will forgive us. “I will not hold your sins against you, I will remember them no more.”
John chapter 8 speaks of a woman caught in the act of adultery. This sinful act was punishable by death. Her accusers were ready to stone her, however Jesus had compassion on her. He did not condemn her, instead, he forgave her and told her to go and sin no more.

Once we accept Jesus in our lives we do not have to hold on to any baggage from our past. When Jesus forgives us, we are forgiven. We must not dwell on our past, or go back to the same sinful habits. We have to embrace our freedom in Christ and grow in grace.
Be encouraged, God can mend our brokenness. He is touched with the feelings of our infirmities. He knows exactly what we are going through and if we submit to him, he will see us through. Remember, he loves us with an everlasting love and absolutely nothing can ever separate us from his love.
