In God, even the worst failings in life can be overcome. Former pastor Perry Noble is living testimony to this hopeful truth. Back in July, while he was serving as pastor to NewSpring megachurch in South Carolina, Noble was removed from the pulpit on account of his alcohol problems.
Relevant Magazine reports that according to the church, the then pastor had made unfortunate choices and decisions that had caused much concern. According to the online publication, the church's statement was with reference to Noble's abuse of alcohol and his posture toward marriage.
The former pastor then went into rehab, and according to the latest reports, has successfully completed his rehabilitation program.
Noble posted on his Facebook page, "The best move for me in regards to getting better is to humbly place myself under the authority of someone who I can trust and is qualified to walk me through this next season. As I often say, you can't do life alone, and it's going to take the help of other people if I am going to fully embrace the healing that needs to take place in my life,"
Now, Noble has submitted himself to the guidance of John Walker, of whom he says, "He will serve as my pastor, my psychologist and my spiritual formations director in this next season." It appears that the ex-pastor's faith has been renewed and reinforced, and he is now keen to get back on the right path, hoping to make his way back to ministry in the future.
In his own words, the 45 year old explained the nature of his strengthened faith and quoted scriptures, "I have no idea in what capacity He will use me in over the next several years; however, I do know that it will be immeasurably more than all I could ask for or imagine--because, in Christ, the best is always yet to come."
