Game of Thrones once again sat high and mighty in its Iron Throne for the third year counting, as it outwitted and overpowered all the other shows as 2014's most pirated TV show.
TorrentFreak disclosed that the show was downloaded an estimated 8.1 million times via BitTorrent, almost double than the second placer The Walking Dead with 4.8 million illegal downloads this year.
The Big Bang Theory came in third with 3.9 million illegal downloads, followed by the recently wrapped-up How I Met Your Mother with 3.5 million illegal downloads. Gotham came in fifth with 3.2 million, then Arrow with 2.9 million. Grey's Anatomy followed closely with 2.8 million, Vikings with 2.7 million, Suits with 2.5 million, and rounding up number 10 is South Park with 2.4 million.
The fourth season finale of Game of Thrones also surpassed all the other TV series with 7.1 million illegal downloads from BitTorrent.
The show is a huge success for HBO, and has finally edged out The Sopranos this year as the most-watched HBO show of all time.
