“I’m breathing, thanks to Yahweh.
I’m in my right mind, thanks to Yahweh.
I can move, I can feel, I can see, Thanks to Yahweh.
Glory be to Adonai who gave his life away for me.
He made a sacrifice nobody could have paid for me.
He saved me, gave me hope of eternity.
So I have to praise him, yes! I have to praise him.
I’m only alive because of Jesus Christ,
So, with all my heart I’ll serve Jesus Christ.
The only wise God, the way, the truth and the life.
The Alpha, the Omega, that’s Jesus Christ.
God of all flesh,
God of grace and mercy,
Creator of the universe, my God is supreme.
I AM that I AM, the sweet Nazarene”
Life is fragile:
I wrote this poem a few years back to just express how grateful I am to be breathing. This season has definitely made me realize how fragile life is; we are not guaranteed a tomorrow. No one but our creator God Almighty knows what our future holds.
I always remind myself that God is in control of my life. God controls my tomorrow and he knows what is best for me. Everything about my life, I leave in his care.
Everytime I think about life I remember the Parable of the Rich Fool in Luke 12. This man had everything to his comfort, he had just yielded an abundant harvest and was wondering what to do next with all the goods he acquired. His plan was to tear down his barns and build new ones, his plan was to store all he had for the future, all he had in mind was to take life easy, eat, drink and be merry.
But Jesus told him “this very night your life will be demanded of you”, he died that very night and all his plans came to naught. Because his priorities were not in the right place, all the wealth he acquired meant nothing.
Include God:
It is okay to have aspirations for our future, however, we have to make sure we include God in all our plans. We have to realize that he is the giver of life and he determines when we will take our last breath. We must be willing to allow God to have full control over lives, because he knows what is best for us. Proverbs chapter 16 verse 9 says “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps”. Let us allow God to lead us into the way he wants us to go.
Life without God is meaningless.
He is our only hope.
Be encouraged, be thankful and be grateful.
Being alive right now, and spending time with our loved ones is a privilege.
We are not alive because of who we are, what we have or who we know. We are alive only because of the grace and mercy of Yahweh.
Let us love like Jesus and make a positive impact on the lives we come across.
Let compassion be our motto, so whenever it's our time to go, we would have left a positive impact on this broken world.
As we approach a new year, I pray for God's protection and peace over your lives. May he give us all the strength we need to stand firm and live for him.
