A group of young boys made 65-year-old actress Jessica Lange's day while she was walking down the street.
They didn't ask for her autograph nor ask to take a picture with her, and they didn't even do any crude wolf whistles to the hot actress. Instead, they shouted a comment that is a true testament to Lange's acting prowess.
"I was walking down the street and I passed this group of young boys and I heard them say, 'Holy s--tballs, it's the Supreme!'" Lange said during an interview on the Late Night with Seth Meyers. "And I thought, 'That's the greatest!'"
"Whatever it meant to them, I had no idea!" Lange laughingly added.
The group of boys were referring to her character Fiona Goode in American Horror Story: Coven. She played the "Supreme" witch in the Miss Robichaux's Academy.
The Supreme is a witch born every generation who embodies countless gifts and magical abilities, and has the ability to perform the Seven Wonders of Witchcraft. It is no easy feat becoming the Supreme since several witches have died while attempting to do the Seven Wonders of Witchcraft.
Lange's role as Goode won her an Emmy award, and an action figure to boot!
Meyers showed Lange a picture of her action figure - Fiona dressed in all black, sporting oversized frames and an umbrella, and the actress looked very pleased.
"That's just insane! Yeah, I don't think there was a Frances Farmer action figure, or a Blanche DuBois action figure. No, I hadn't heard that. That's kind of nuts," she said.
Lange also admitted to Meyers that Elsa Mars from Freak Show is her favorite character to date because of her "rich" background. She has played Constance Langdon in Murder House, Sister Jude in Asylum, and Fiona Goode in Coven. She considers her work with American Horror Story as a "cosmic blessing."
