Being enough
Hey, have you ever thought about, just being you? And that just being you is enough? That it’s not something that we have to tell ourselves but something that we are told to do. It is something we are created for. We were created to be enough! In the eyes and image of our God.
Questions and concerns
As a young Christian I’ve been struggling with the bible lately. I’ve been questioning where it belongs in today’s society. And as I often share here, it’s questions like this which I’m sure I am going to continue to navigate for a very, very long time.
Maybe as I write this, Christians of forty odd years have a slight chuckle as they read. In fact, I bumped into a man in his sixties last week who told me he currently has more questions now than ever before and that’s helpful in a way.
Being a human being
But it confuses me, too. Only because I have a pre-existent expectation that the time will come where I do get it. That the time will come where I do completely understand it all. Here on earth, I’m talking about. But this is also part of being human. Being a human being.
After all, we are human beings and I believe we are called to be the very essence of the term. A human, being. To be, human. And I think to just “be” is very underplayed today.
Back to old ways?
With everything that’s been going on there has been such an overwhelming sense of change. I had another older man contact me the other day, concerned that this sense of change was reducing, and that we may resort back to “old ways”. Personally, I worry a bit less about that.
Perception and trust
Because I focus less on that. Less on the perception of the world and where it’s headed, because there is only so much to understand, and there is only so much that we can control.
We can perceive the world to be “failing again” and to be pulling back in to “old ways”. but really, we need to trust, and we need to have faith.
I see equality
Right now, I personally look around and have this overwhelming perspective of equality. I feel this pandemic and these movements have made that happen. To me, at least.
I look around and see people of different colours, shapes, looks, outfits, job titles and statuses, yet it all doesn’t matter. Because ultimately, we are all humans, and we are called to just be.
No matter where you’re at
Of course, what we do here on Earth matters, it is a part of who we are while we are here. But what happens to us and what we do ourselves doesn’t outweigh the core essence of just being. To just be! Your actions, your worries, your doubts or concerns… we can just be.
Yes, I know how challenging that can be. If you’re in a season of summery light and brightness, I love that for you. If you’re in a season of a wintery cold and misdirection, I have love for you. Wherever you are at right now and whatever you’re struggling with - I feel you.
It’s all okay!
And so can everyone else. Because we all feel, we all face challenges, and we all overcome them. With being equal we are all equal with struggles too. Different levels, perhaps, but struggles, nonetheless. We all experience it.
Understand that the stranger you interacted with today was living their life before that moment and will continue to live after. You’re not the main character in their story, they’re their own, and you are yours. We are all part of each other’s.
Just be
We are equal. We are all human beings. So, don’t worry. Don’t worry about the “why” for the way you’re feeling. Just be. Don’t be concerned. Just be. Don’t let your ego get in the way. Just be! Don’t let the opinions of others bring you down… just be.
Find peace in our God, and just be.
Truly, just be.
