"Magical Thinking" has just invaded the small screen, and American Horror Story: Freak Show fans finally got to meet Chester the traveling salesman slash magician slash ventriloquist played by Neil Patrick Harris.
To say that his character is troubled is an understatement, but he sure made an interesting addition to the Freak Show. At the end of the episode, his ventriloquist dummy Marjorie is forcing his hand to kill conjoined twins Bette and Dot.
But will he pull through with it? Or will he kill someone else?
The twins only ranked eighth in the list of possible victims, and it is mainly due to Sarah Paulson's track record in the show. "We know a red herring when we see one. Freak Show is all about Paulson, and it's not her time to go," the article said.
Coming in before her at number 9 was Dandy Mott, played by Finn Wittrock. "There's no way the main villain of the season is getting taken down by a two-episode guest star, even if that guest star is international superstar NPH," MTV justified.
Number 7 is Maggie Esmeralda, played by Emma Roberts. Her appearance in "Magical Thinking" has been very limited, and she had no direct interaction with Chester. MTV believes that Maggie is way too smart and self-reliant to be duped by Chester.
Paul the Seal Boy played by Mat Fraser is their possible victim number 6, but the article did rethink this choice because Paul doesn't seem likely to trust a stranger quickly.
Number 5 is Ima Wiggles played by Chrissy Metz, who "definitely seems like the type to trust without discretion" while number 4 Amazon Eve played by Erika Ervin has "been murder-bait for weeks at this point."
A lot of people might be hoping for the death of number 3 Stanley played by Denis O'Hare to be real, since he has been threatening the freaks for weeks on end. MTV hopes that his demise might make "Chester an official hero to the Freaks."
Desiree played by Angela Bassett is possible victim number 2. "Her death would send a shockwave through the Show in its final act, and spur the rest of the gang to action," MTV reasoned.
Their number 1 - Dell played by Michael Chiklis will not be killed by Chester, that now is for certain. But MTV thought Chester could have finished him off simply because the show has more horrible bad guys to contend with anyway.
