For once, we have a show where there's a pretty clear idea of what the new season will bring in. And yet, it doesn't dull the sparkle of New Girl's season 6 one bit.
The premiere episode of the upcoming season is due to pick up around three months after the events of the previous season's finale. That was when Jess, played by Zooey Deschanel, and Nick, portrayed by Jake Johnson, parted ways so that Nick could go after Reagan in New Orleans.
Entertainment Weekly reported that Megan Fox, who plays Reagan, will return for a major arc that extends up to eight episodes in the new season. However, she won't feature in the premiere episode, which is being directed by Deschanel herself. Inquistr goes on to reveal more spoilers which suggest that the first episode in the new installment will revolve around Cece and Schmidt. The two lovebirds had their wedding last season, and as this new one opens, we'll see them go house-hunting together.
As for fans of Jess and Nick, they'll have to wait a while to see them get back together, if at all. Another storyline in the upcoming season will give us the tale of Winston, as he tries to make his long distance relationship with Aly work.
Season 6 will begin on the September 20. Also, with crossovers happening nearly everywhere, Fox Network seems to be following suit as well. According to Vine Report, a crossover between New Girl and Fox network's other big comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine is scheduled to air on the October 11. Although the details of the plot have been kept a well-guarded secret, rumors abound. Winston is expected to play a major role in the one-hour crossover episode. His job with the NYPD is likely to take him to Brooklyn, and the rest, as we believe, will be history.
