NFL player Benjamin Watson has blasted Planned Parenthood, claiming the organisation was founded as a way to "exterminate blacks."
In a discussion with Turning Point Pregnancy Resource Center, the outspoken star stated that blacks represent a large portion of aborted babies, and ironically, it is working.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Abortion Surveillance, 36% of all abortions performed in the U.S. are on black children's fetuses, despite blacks accounting for only 13% of the country's total population.
It has also been reported that the vast majority of Planned Parenthood clinics are within walking distance from black and Hispanic areas.
The athlete added that he felt disgusted about those who support Planned Parenthood without knowing its motive.
"We are buying it hook, line, and sinker, like it's a great thing," he said. "It's just amazing to me and abortion saddens me period, but it seems to be something that is really pushed on minorities and provided to minorities especially as something that they should do."
Retired neurosurgeon and former candidate for President of the United States Dr. Ben Carson has also previously slammed the group's founding, claiming that pioneer Margaret Sanger "believed that people like me should be eliminated."
Watson, who is a Christian, also highlighted bias perceptions between black and white teens, pointing out that when a black teen gets pregnant it becomes a statistic, while a white teen would get a TV show.
When asked to comment on abortion being a strictly woman issue, he said that many women would not be having abortions if men stepped up to be a part of what they are already biologically a part of.
"Raising children and having children, even though the women birthed the child, is designed for two people to do it."
The 36-year-old has penned a book named Under Our Skin, on race relations in the U.S.
