Son of Zorn, the new live-action animated hybrid series by Fox will preview after the season's first NFL doubleheader on the network on Sunday, September 11, at 8 pm.
After that, the show will air on its regular time slot on Sunday, September 25 at 8:30 p.m.
The series is one of its kinds, where an animated warrior, from an all-animated faraway island in the Pacific Ocean, returns to Orange County, California, to get back his live-action wife and son.
"Return to Orange County," will be the series' special preview episode where the lead Zorn, voiced by Jason Sudeikis, comes down to California to visit his son Alangulon, also Alan (Johnny Pemberton) from his native land of Zephyria. While here, he comes to know that his ex-wife, Edie (Cheryl Hines) now has a fiancée played by Tim Meadows. Zorn will stay in the live-action world to reconnect with his son while landing a job.
Comparing it with the 1988 film 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit', Eric Appel executive producer and director of the series said, "Everyone on our show has an awareness of Zephyria, just like in the Harry Potter universe, where everyone in the real world co-exists with this world of wizards."
Co-creator Reed Agnew rejects claims calling Zorn a cartoon.
"We never wanted to call him a cartoon," said Agnew. "When Zorn walks into Applebee's without a shirt on, no one is like, 'you're a cartoon'; it's more like, 'You're not wearing a shirt.'"
The September 25 episode is revealed to be "Defender of Teen Love" where Zorn will help his son get his crush's attention with the help of the mystical "Stone of Sight".
