Chistian NFL fans would be happy to know that the NFL has once more partnered up with mega-talents in the Gospel music scene - namely Natalie Grant, Grammy-winner Donnie McClurkin and Israel Houghton. Last year in 2014, powerhouse singer Patti Label and Grammy award-winner Mary Mary were the front acts.
In a press release, Creator and Executive Producer of Super Bowl Gospel Celebration Melanie Few-Harrison was quoted saying, "This year we celebrate the 16th Anniversary of bringing even more power and celebration to one of the biggest events of the year — the Super Bowl. Each year we aim to make the experience bigger than the last with artists and special guests from all backgrounds and this year will be no different! Super Bowl XLIX in Phoenix will be our biggest yet!"
The talented trio will be the headline acts for the 16th Annual NFL Sanctioned Super Bowl Gospel Celebration which will be held on Feb. 1. Fans will be gathering at the Gammage Hall, located in the Arizona State University campus in Phoenix, AZ, to witness this special football-meets-Gospel event.
The prestigious event aims not just to please fans, it is also a very successful charity fundraiser. A portion of the ticket sales is donated to select organizations. In the last decade, about half a million dollars have been donated. The St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will be the blessed recipient of the fundraiser this year.
Speaking about the inspiration and unity that the event has accomplished time and time again, NFL Consultant Tisha Ford quipped, "The Super Bowl Gospel Celebration has been a formal, sanctioned partner for 16 years, and has played an integral role in bringing together fans and football players under one roof with a shared love of inspirational music."
