I was distracted, my mind was full of mental clutter. Another spiritual battle but I was determined to push through.
I sat down at my desk and there it was again. The number 45. This time on an empty coke bottle on my desk.
Suddenly the clutter was gone and I had clarity as the realization came to me 'hold on, isn't Donald Trump the 45th US president?'
I quickly googled 'what number president is Donald Trump?'
Sure enough the answer was he is the 45th president. The previously dormant information had been there in my head but now jumped out at me as it took on specific relevance.
I got in my car to go to work and the number 45 continued to assert itself at every turn. Number plate after number plate. Bus stop number 45. I looked at my phone, it was 8:45am.
Numbers
Back up a bit.
The unusual phenomenon of God speaking to me through numbers is not something new, it has been happening for more than three years now.
The number 45 is just one of the most recent numbers that I have begun to see everywhere.
The meaning or purpose of the number isn't usually immediately obvious. It is a riddle to be discovered through prayer, petition, seeking and listening to God for revelation.
When I first started to see 45 everywhere I had a vague sense that it was connected to Donald Trump. “Wasn't that Cyrus passage that a number of Christian leaders have talked about in relation to Donald Trump in Isaiah 45?” I asked myself. I wasn't interested enough to look it up so I left it.
That is until recently someone at church mentioned that his son's name is Asher and it means happiness. Immediately the chorus line of a 90s pop song came to mind 'A brimful of Asha on the 45'.
I googled the name and found that while the Hebrew spelling Asher means happiness or blessing, the Indian name Asha, as spelt in the song, means hope.
Blessing and hope on the 45
Was God trying to communicate the message to me that there was blessing and hope on Donald Trump's presidency?
I quickly googled Isaiah 45 with a new sense of intrigue and interest. Sure enough Isaiah 45 was the famous Cyrus chapter.
Here are a few bits from Isaiah 45:
“This is what the Lord says to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I take hold of
to subdue nations before him and to strip kings of their armor, to open doors before him so that gates will not be shut:
For the sake of Jacob my servant, of Israel my chosen, I summon you by name and bestow on you a title of honor, though you do not acknowledge me. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me,
so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting people may know there is none besides me.
I will raise up Cyrus in my righteousness: I will make all his ways straight. He will rebuild my city and set my exiles free, but not for a price or reward, says the Lord Almighty.”
The passages about Cyrus certainly seem to sit well with the view that Trump has been chosen to 'drain the swamp' of corruption in US politics and stand up for Christians. God seemed to be saying there is a brimful of blessing and hope on the modern-day Cyrus, President Donald Trump.
Discovering that Trump is the 45th president only brought weight to the sense that God is saying something prophetically about the significance of his purpose.
I realize that many find Trump distasteful and it may sound ludicrous and far-fetched that he may have some special role in God's plans for the world today. Whether or not God is highlighting a parallel between Cyrus and Trump that is worthy of consideration is for the reader to discern.
The prophetic and Trump
My own interest in the prophetic angle about Donald Trump began in the lead up to the 2016 US election. I had read Australian prophetic writer Lana Vawser's prophetic words about Donald Trump and the United States and had a strange confidence that Trump was going to win the US election in spite of the odds seeming to be against him.
Indeed, I did feel a brimful of hope and optimism when Trump won the election. I felt a sense of jubilation that a great darkness and evil had been thwarted. I felt that God was up to something and the Trump win had real spiritual significance for the world.
Since then I have learned about a number of other compelling prophecies about Trump. This includes Mark Taylor, the retired fireman who prophesied the Trump presidency in 2011 and Kim Clement who predicted it in the early 2000s.
There is, of course, many things to criticize about Donald Trump and he should be held accountable like any other powerful leader. But I am also convinced that the unusual presidency of Donald Trump has a deeper meaning that is worth pursuing.
