The first look into 'The Blacklist' season 4 has previewed what appears to be another rescue mission of Liz by none other than Raymond "Red" Reddington, who is seen with Dembe finding Liz and attempting to save her from Alexander Kirk, the man who dropped the shocking claim to be her father in last season's finale.
The episode showed Liz Keen (Megan Boone) faking her death to escape from Red (James Spader). But without his protection, Liz was eventually kidnapped Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen), the new villain.
But why did Liz decide to leave Red suddenly, fans might be wondering?
"When she saw that the life of her baby was at risk because Red was in her life, it had gone too far. No matter what her personal reasons for engaging with Red before, they all fell away with the birth of her child," says Boone about her character's decision.
She also added that she will be happy to no longer stay as Elizabeth Keen in the show after her fake death took away her previous identity.
The 33 year old actress too revealed that there is no happily-ever-after point in The Blacklistfor her and Tom even after Red is not in her life anymore.
In the fourth season, Red will indulge in a rivalry against Kirk who had also kidnapped newborn Agnes, while keeping tabs on Tom's (Ryan Eggold) movement.
It is speculated that Elizabeth's bogus death will surely affect Red.
"Red is devastated. On one hand, he understands the danger he's brought to Liz by being part of her life the past three years — he knew the dangers — but on the other hand, he's only cooperating with the FBI so he can be part of her life," said executive producer Jon Bokenkamp to EW.
"Emotionally, Reddington is in a very tricky and precious place. There is nothing worse than blatant rejection."
The Blacklist returns on Thursday, September 22 at 10 p.m. on NBC.
